Antenna with magnetic core
The main difference between Ferroxtag and standard High Frequency
(13.56 MHz) tags is the antenna. The magnetic core of the Ferroxtag
attracts the magnetic field generated by the reader, thus making it
suitable for operation in difficult RF environments, such as liquids
and metals. The magnetic core enables the possibility to
minimize the size of the antenna, but also makes it possible to
achieve very long reading ranges with a reasonably big antenna
dimensions.
And finally, the sensitive reading direction is parallel to the
item where the tag is attached to. This means that reflection on
metals is not a problem, the tag will be activated even when the tag
is directly attached to the metallic surface.
