Ferroxtag encapsulations
Ferroxtag are High Frequency (13.56 MHz) ISO15693 and ISO18000-3
compliant. The key feature of these tags is the antenna: instead of
using a simple air coil, the magnetic field is attracted by a high
permeability ferrite that drives the field through the antenna. The
antenna is parallel to the item, instead of perpendicular, making
the tag almost independent of the item material (doesn't matter it
is metal or liquid).
The Integrated Circuit used is NXP ICode SLI, so the tags can be
read by almost every HF reader.
Ferroxtags are delivered in two different encapsulations, both of
them robust and easy to mount on the items.
Ferroxtag on metal screw
box is the solution for permanent fixation to items, requires a
small surface on the item (no problem with liquids and metals) and
works very good in tough environments.
Ferroxtag with barcode
allows multiple uses of the encapsulation, and is the solution when
metallic items are to be identified and you still like to uses the
handheld bar code readers.
Other encapsulations can be designed to fit your needs. Just

The design of Ferroxtag on Metal Screw Box is intended to
be screwed, ribetted or even glued on the item to be identified. The
robust design allows operation even in the toughest
environments. This tag is also suitable for extreme temperatures
above 150ÂșC.

Applications can be found for asset tracking as well as in
industrial environments. Ferroxtag on Metal Screw Box can be used to
identify high value products such as laptops, computers, medical
equipment, but also for industrial boxes, pallets, beer kegs and gas
cylinders.
Encapsulation material is Polyamide 66 (UL94 V-0 certified)
sealed with silicone or epoxi resin. These alternatives can be chosen
depending on the environment where the tag will work.
The reading range is around 30 cm to 40 cm when an industrial
reader is used (with 4 watts power).

Ferroxtag with bar code is designed to ease the mounting
on a very wide variety of boxes or items. It is suitable for glueing
thanks to its long surface.

The key feature is that allows automatic identification through
RFID and manual reading with a simple bar code reader. The bar code
printed on top is the last 4 bytes of the ID number of the tag.
Standard encapsulation material is ABS, therefore very flexible
and robust, but not good for high temperatures, neither the bar code
label.
The reading range is around 40 cm using an industrial RFID reader
with 4 watts output power.
